The industry doesn't demand long hours. The senior partners who work till late don't start working early. Human mind can't function effectively beyond 10 hours a day. If you start working from noon, then you'll have to work till 10 at night. If you start working at 9, then you can't possibly be functioning well after 7.

Completely agree - the industry demands long hours. Senior partners work till late, it’s a product of the kind of work we do. She seems like someone too junior/ naive or someone who wants to quit soon. There is a growing trend of lawyers quitting and becoming content creators.

Almost all the good teachers have left. Very few remain of good quality. Your first will have 2 very senior professors.
I will also tell you to lower down you expectations calling it "T1", placements have to been up to the mark of T1 but yes its better than T2 so somewhere in T1.5.

As far as senior junior relations are concerend you have to call seniors as sir/ma'am. Also some campus area is restricted for first years. Also there are some incidents of extreme ragging every year just hope you don't fall into it.
Students are not working overtime to turn things around lol. They are fighting over how will the rank list be constituted.

Congratulations on securing admission to NLIU Bhopal through the General Category! That's a great achievement, and you should definitely be proud of making it to a Tier-1 National Law University.

Lol just because the GLC peeps had one instance of awakening, also only owing to initiative by the retired justice, doesn't mean that it is the best. The crux being quality of host and questions that are put up matter more than just some revolution (read discussion) behind it.

I can't believe people like you are going to be my seniors. When juniors have valid concerns based on what seems to be the truth, you clarify and help them out. All you guys seem to do is harp on about how NUJS is still the best and how there's nothing wrong with it. No wonder most CLAT 2026 rankers opted for NLUJ/GNLU over NUJS. Gone are the days when cutoffs were ~250; its been ~350 for the past 2 years.

Show me five students who have cracked NLS, NALSAR, etc. and still chosen to study at Jindal. Elite ▮▮▮ who can't crack CLAT to get good NLUs have little choice left, hence Jindal. Plenty of NLU students belong to the families of ministers, bureaucrats and businessmen. They just have to be smart enough, which number is decreasing steadily of course.

Can someone in the Projects Practice, give some clarity, on how the practice works?
I know there's horrible work life balance, I know that its more commercial, than pure regulatory;
however I would like to know about how to go about preparing myself for an interview, like if there's a book or something, as there isn't like a list of regulations or something, atleast that I have been able to find.

Don't you get tired of posting this again and again? Why don't you start your own university and run these courses? People go to law universities to study law. If someone wishes to specialise in tech or science related legal domains, then there are electives for that. New electives can be introduced based on student demands. That's all there is to it. Lawyers aren't going be asked to do the job of a tech or science experts even if they have a BSc LLB degree.

If you're from Assam or the northeast. Definitely pick it up. More than the tier it's the proximity of the NLU to home that will help. Moreover if you're to litigate, judiciary or teach, it will help build contact in the region during those 5 years. If not, then it's the same as going to NUALS from the North. Just the tag.

it completely depends on the interviewer. i was mostly asked basic ques related to cap mar work mentioned in my CV (interview was for the cap mar team). I'd suggest covering CV prongs (focus more on those related to the practice area)> basics of relevant practice area > companies and contract. If its for disputes, then basics of arb, and CPC as well. Also, prepare answers to a couple of HR questions beforehand. All the best!

All the hate comments against the Kol office seems to come from a single disgruntled intern. I have interned in Kol, del and mumbai offices of Lks. My native is kol. And let me tell you, initially I also thought kol might not be good and interned in their mum and del offices and in the final semester, i just thought I'll try the kol office. However, the experience was certainly better than the del and mum internships. They have moved to a bigger, fancy space and the team size is quite good. They do IDT and DT lit and advisory apart from IPR and few Commercial lit matters. Unlike del and mum office there are no separate teams and everyone works in all areas. So the exposure is quite high and everyone is so helpful and humble which is contrasting to other firms in Kolkata. The internship experience was so fulfilling and I wanted to join there but life had other plans and I joined a Gen corp of a diff firm in a diff city. But if I had an option, I wouldve joined there. Also from my conversations with associates there, the pay is on par with del and mum and maybe even more in some months if they exceed the billing targets. The best part is that even associates appear independently before the tribunals and high courts which was quite shocking for me. So, don't fall for the hate comments in LI and miss out a good opportunity.

Yes so GB is not a good lawyer. Right. No merit but sheer nepotism to become a barrister. No merit but sheer nepotism to became one of the most sought after arbitration counsels in india. Sure. Y'all first gen ▮▮▮ dont have a winner mindset. All u do is look down and bring down others. Y'all are ▮▮▮ who would never achieve anything in life and complain about nepotism day in and out

Consider GLC for the following reasons:

1. You have free afternoons/evenings which you can use to do your articleship in a good law firm for solicitor exam.

2. You save money which you can later use to do LLM from abroad, QLTS, etc.

3. Connections/Network in Bombay Bar and law firm circuit can go a long way in catapulting your career in 5 years.

Anyway, put your maximum effort wherever you join (GLC or MNLU-N) and you will outshine.
