15 lakhs is the fixed, bonus cap from what i’ve heard is 3 lakhs (they never tell officially) and made 5 lakhs in bill share (locked in from July, after completing one year on the firm)
Expecting the total compensation from last year to be around 22/23 lakhs
Practice Area: Civil/CommercialPQE: 2024 Batch
- Month and Year(so that we know how old the figures are): June ‘26
- Compensation: 3.6 LPA fixed
- “We are number 1 law school saar. Better than NLSIU saar. Don’t want elite VC like Sudhir Krishnaswamy and don’t care for NIRF/QS ranking saar”.
- “How dare you compare faculty with Jindal saar as it’s only for rich peoples.”
- “CAM and AZB recruits from here saar”.
Just fed up of this BS. Y’all really need to STFU and introspect seriously.
One positive thing that has happened is that the pack of criminals running the state for 15 years have left and a very erudite person, with a PhD from SOAS, has become Finance Minister. Last time this happened was when Asim Dasgupta (a PhD from MIT) was Finance Minister, under the Left government. I think a delegation of alumni and students should seek an appointment with Swapan Dasgupta and make a case for reforming NUJS. Start with inducting good people in the governing bodies and top alumni of NLUs.
All in all, she clocks in around 6-7 hours of work in an entire day and droolers like you march in, saying 'we need to learn'. Oh, the irony!
I spent 10 years in a T1. It was a mess -- let her grow and see what happens.
You guys make decisions and judgements in 5 seconds.
Plus, there are exceptions to the rule always.

Jai Narender, Jai Vijender.
Desh me Modi. Nagpur me Vijender.
Look at the ROI NLSIU gives you now. Fabulous placements and fantastic faculty who could be teaching anywhere abroad. All for a fraction of the cost abroad. Yes, the hostel issue is a but challenging now, but it will be solved with new construction.
Even Harvard will not necessarily give you such ROI.
The office is very cramped with the only upside being that everyone including partners interact a lot mostly working together in a common area instead of slogging alone in cubicles like their Noida counterpart. As an intern you'll have many opportunities for direct partner interaction and mentorship. The only issue is that they take in a lot of interns making competition extremely tough - if you're eyeing a PPO be ready to put in the efforts and hours. They should genuinely switch their office not only because of the space crunch but also because Hansalya can come down any day. All the best!
Signed,
Someone who went for law studies abroad, so has no skin in the game of NLU vs. TLC debate.
I have heard that the students are really working overtime to turn things around and I was wondering if this is true.
P.S. Look at archives of LI for info on BimPa. 😀

China ditches 12000 obsolete programmes, mostly in humanities and arts disciplines.
This validates that the humanities and arts are becoming obsolete. NLUs will be disrupted.
- More money in the hands of the elite, allowing them to send their kids abroad or to Jindal (perhaps BITS, for those who wish to stay in Mumbai).
- CLAT becoming harder to crack for GC students, with greater competition and fewer merit list seats.
- Infra in top NLUs crumbling (NLSIU, NUJS). Tier 2 NLUs in shambles (RMLNLU)
- Just higher aspirations for their kids. Weather went to NLSIU, now earns enough to send son for an LLB to the UK.
Who would be the best partner to intern under to maximize my chances of getting a PPO before August comes????
How much time do they take to process a PPO
Let's have full transparency and compare CLAT ranks and GPAs.
Top 10:
1) NLSIU
2) NUJS
3) GNLU
4) NLIU
5) HNLU
6) SLS-P
7) NLUO
8) RMLNLU
9) LLOYD
10) ILS

I'm planning to pursue a 3 year LLB and need help deciding between these two colleges: KC Law College and Jitendra Chauhan College of Law (JCCL)
From what I know so far, KC has the advantage in terms of location, but I've also heard that JCCL offers more flexibility and better opportunities when it comes to internships. I was initially aiming for GLC, but I have a feeling that my percentile may not be enough to make the cut this year.
I would appreciate hearing from people who are more familiar with these colleges or have firsthand experience with either of them.
Regarding corplaw I find it a decent sector to work as per my experience from internships and description of tasks from associates (maybe I am naive, sorry for that).
Regarding MBA, I am interested in consulting and have no interest in other sectors like HR. However I am worried whether the Quant section in MBA exams will be a major hurdle for me and whether I will have to do major maths all my life if I even get a good Consulting job. But at the same time I feel that I had a mediocre life till now and I would like to achieve some institution tag validation (Read IIM BLACKI and XLRI) , and there is also higher earning potential than corplaw.
Please Advice what would be a good choice for me
I’m a 2026 graduate from tier 2 nlu, and am currently exploring opportunities in Corporate Law, M&A, PE/VC and related transactional work. I’m currently looking at opportunities across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad, whether with law firms, boutique practices or in-house legal teams.
If anyone is aware of openings, hiring teams, or would be willing to point me in the right direction, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
I am a penultimate year law student and I recently got shortlisted for an interview with Khaitan & Co. I know they ask questions from the CV and past internship experiences but I was wondering whether they test corporate law concepts and awareness about the latest developments.
Any insights or tips would be really appreciable. Thanks in advance!
