With the bit of context I have as given by you, if you are definitely getting a seat at NLUD, please go ahead with it as Delhi has better connectivity with your hometown and you can find really cheap accommodations in Delhi to ease the financial burden you may have to undertake. Also, you get to intern a lot more regularly as opposed to the set internship breaks in the other NLUs, allowing you to get an edge in terms of work ex (which matters a lot during placements). NLUD has instituted a lot of scholarship programs too.
Only and only in terms of expenses would I discourage NALSAR as the campus is quite cut off from the city and the travelling alone during weekends sums up in to easy 700 cab ride (one way) and I am assuming the flight tickets back home and etc, would only increase your expenses. Not like the Bangalore campus is closer either, however, there is enough of a community to survive off around the campus itself.
I personally know people from NLS in their final year who are yet to get placed, however with a decent batch rank, any of the NLUs you have mentioned will surely secure you a great placement. The alumni network in all of them will aid you a lot if utilised properly. All the best!

Hey seniors , Greetings. I am getting a rank of 1XX in clat I am confused about which college to select NLS or Nalsar ? Also, I come from a very poor background, and my parents don’t have money, and I I’m gonna take an education loan for the fees. I would like to know if it is worth it. Also, I want a college for corporate perspective and not litigation. Also, I would be getting enough marks to fetch me a seat in NLUD and I am from Northeast, so what should I do? Should I choose NLS ,NALSAR or NLUD?

Okay so basically you share a feedback form with the team and everyone enters their feedback. The Training Guide(s) looks at it and either write to HR recommending a Callback, PPO or neither. The Partner is consulted obviously. This takes about a month. Most teams require callbacks for hiring. Some couldn't care less. Honestly its better to do it in person, I interned with an extension (good feedback) online and still somehow got rejected.

It is a lot more easier for freshers/A0/A1/A2 and so on level associates to pushback to their toxic seniors than they think. Seniors can’t go complaining to the partner about the associate/something the associate said because it will reflect badly on the senior’s ability to manage their associates. In other words, each time you pushback on toxicity- just think about how it would reflect on the senior in front of the partner (should they complain against the pushback). And ofcourse, pick your battles carefully!

1. It needs to diversify its programmes. Universities can't be successful today with just a few programmes. Therefore, your argument is completely wrong. Just admit you are part of the TLC lobby and that your relevance levels are ZERO!!!

2. NLS starting a high school isn't the flex you think it is. Well-known universities in England have tried (and been successful in) such projects. One such attempt was recently covered by the Sunday Times of London - see below:

Ha, ha. For anyone who thought NLS was a law school, it is now going to offer a regular BA program with an annual fee of ₹4.54 lacs per annum excluding mess. Where is NLS headed? It is a case of how to destroy a good university.

It is on track to offer Class 11 and 12 high school education in a few years - NLS High School, competing with NPS and DPS.

In Clat 2025 I got AIR OBC rank 7330, AIR GENERAL TELANGANA rank 1228, AIR OBC(D) TELANGANA rank 101, AIR WOMEN OBC rank 3319, AIR WOMEN rank 22293 and AIR GENERAL rank 37014. I didn't get invited to admission counselling. Is it possible to get admission in NALSAR through vacant seats or should I try for other universities and exam?

She is placed at CAM( She is telling nujs placements are not good , its a declining nlu, there are funding issues with wb govt and on comparison gnlu is growing nlu, gnlu has better infrastructure than nujs)

The single worst thing about NLUO that is holding it back is the mentality of the people there. There are a few "traditions" which make absolutely no sense. As for the headache by rangin, haven't seen any REAL, PHYSICAL and MEASURABLE disturbance due to his existence. Ved, to an extent yes. If the college trying to curb alcohol and the cheap ganja is a headache to people then you know what the real issue is. Extremely inflated egos rooting out of nothing. Ragging exists. Academics, could be better yes, but better than many already existing. Serious lack of funding too. But the real issue, are the people there. You can opt for it, not a very bad place to be, be busy in your own grind and don't give af about anything else, you should be good to go.

Nluo is literally the only "good option" I have because I messed up my paper this time. It was a last minute decision and now Idk where else to go. The only other option I have is prepping for slat, which is on 13th this month. And before someone mentions, Jindal is too expensive and I don't want that kind of pressure going into college. Don't. Literally don't. No point in going there. Placements have gone down the drain, again. 2022, 2023, 2024 pumped the numbers a bit, 2025 batch has reduced everything to dirt. Co-curriculars, serious lack of funding. Academic, it's becoming a hub for DU faculties who want a NLU tag. Rangin and Ved gives new headache everyday.

NLS is really very hectic, but it boasts the best student crowd and top-tier faculty. This makes it easier to secure strong LORs for admission to prestigious law schools abroad. Additionally, NLS has a more global orientation, with many more students pursuing careers at British firms and benefiting from various exchange opportunities. However, if your primary goal is to pursue an MBA, NALSAR would be a better choice, as achieving a higher CGPA is much more feasible there. The academic standards at NLS are exceptionally rigorous.

When I had started off, I thought things would smoothen once I become a partner.

The nature of pressure upon becoming a partner is very different: managing client expectations, team, ensuring the deliverable goes out on time and is of a top notch quality. Yes, work is still hectic (it doesn’t ease out over the years) and I still have to work the weekends (because of the excellent service industry we are in) so we don’t have much time to relax.

So, if you are looking for a chiller life, law firms are not the place for you because it is not easy.

I'd encourage you to go off and start up by yourself to understand. As a junior getting paid without having any responsibility to source work your attitude often can be "oh why do I have to do this? Why can (s)he just not say no?".

As someone that has to source all the work to sustain your own pay and a team that's constantly yearning for more money, you have to get more work and so you cannot afford to say no or push back.

Interesting. So money makes up for everything? Assuming you are an associate, and your firm pays you 50k a month more, do they have a right to give effs about your mental health? If that was the case, the highest paying firm would attract the best talent and face no attrition. You very well know that’s not the case.

Also, partners don’t get paid for the hours or taking the stress but the experience. The same way a mason works harder than you but doesn’t get remotely paid than lawyers.

this! Partners are scanty and would want to squeeze the most of their limited resources when they very simply have the option of adding on to the manpower. Maybe don't be some thirsty about this few lakhs and you'd get better work delivered to you timely, with everyone on your time having a work life balance

Trust me on this when i tell you, it will be the best decision you will take - there will always be some losers who couldn’t handle college life who will be bad mouthing it

You are coming to one of the most prestigious NLU in the country so make the best of it

Some pointers as an NLUJ Senior

Take BBA over BA if you want better CGPA (incase CGPA matters to you as BA is low scoring comparatively)

Make sure you’re in top 20 and atleast in top 30 if you want a stress free life in case you want to end up in a law firm as it virtually makes it a 100% chance you will get places in a tier 1 law firm

Now coming to the fun part - The campus is big and beautiful- through infrastructure wise not the best (new vc is working on it)

If you are a sucker for sports, it will be the best NLU in the country for you. NLUJ leads in almost all law school fests as it has great sports infrastructure and culture

It also has the best Mooting and ADR culture in the country currently so make sure you take guidance from your seniors especially from BO’26

Academic pressure has reduced dramatically since new VC - you will have 3 CAs instead of 4 plus we dont have classes on saturdays anymore

However please keep academics at the top of your priority

Party culture is again great- however, please be careful to not get into alcohol and avoid drugs

I have noticed a lot of time first years go in the wrong direction when experience such freedom and independence for the first time - be mindful as there will be seniors actively trying to make you drunk at parties (ofc with no bad intention its just a culture where seniors make juniors drink, you can say no if you dont want to)

Liquor Parties happen mostly at SDL/ Kokum

People hangout a lot at laxmi or noksh etc for snacks suttas etc

Basically University has everything you need, its how you make it

Another advise for you would be to not do things just to fit in- its okay to be in FOMO rather than doing things and regretting it later

I have seen some juniors getting into smoking up (ganja etc) and now are addicted.

Make good friends who are smart and have personality too and are ambitious plus know the difference between right and wrong- falling into the wrong company can also be detrimental

Baaki you have a lot of parties, you can go to city and visit all the historical places jodhpur is famous for

There are loads of good restaurants and cafes around the city

There is no hostel timings so you can hangout in campus as long as you want

i have to choose honours subject soon but I'm really confused between ipr and tax. I'm good at both subjects. I want to prepare for judiciary as well. tax or ipr would be my backup plans. i feel like tax is good but at the same time it feels other would prefer ca or cs and it would be hard to get a good job here. And ipr is good too but I feel like too many people are choosing for ipr and I have no idea if there are even enough job opportunities out there. i don't know if they will even pay well- both in tax and ipr

He just ran one centre at NLU D for death penalty. I dont think he contributed to the running of the university. Not an administrator. A good professor, getting money through a center. So yes, NALSAR will get funding but he wont be seen on campus much. Good in subject but sad stopped teaching much.

Hi, I am a 2nd-year student at a Tier 1 NLU, and I have poor grades and I do not venture out much at extracurriculars. I want to build my CV by doing internships, and I have done a few good on-site internships, but I want to be engaged with good online internships with firms and advocates as well. The problem is with the few openings at Lawbhoomi or other sources, they hardly ever reply back. I feel discouraged but I still look out for online internships(the ones that are worth it). I follow all the things that are required, but I still do not get any callbacks. I will be grateful for any suggestions.

No, but more often than not they are quite open to letting interns work with other teams as long as their original team is kept in the loop. Then if you're asking for another internship with the firm you can let them know that you're interested in interning in a different practice area.
