Lmao, keep living in delusion. Not a single tier 1 firm now takes GLC grads let alone GLC Kozhikode ones. Before NLUs, GLC grads used to get jobs in tier 1 that's why you can see some of them in tier 1 but not now. Most GLC grads find it hard to get into even tier2 or tier 3 firms. Show me any recent GLC grad who got a job in tier 1 without connections can you?

You do know that that isn't a fantastic example to use? After all, the legal scene hasn't changed all that much in the last 15 years or so. Barring NLSIU (perhaps add NALSAR, NUJS (doubtful now because of political bullshit), NLUD, GNLU), there are no options for legal education in India worth considering, and definitely none worth putting money into.

Tbh - a lot of it depends on your privilege and your risk taking abilities (these two factors are also interconnected).

Take the decision based on the kind of support you have from your family, financially, as well as emotionally. Ask yourself questions like can I keep apart 2 to 3 years of no income after graduation, or will your family need some sort of financial support from you?

You also have to see whether you yourself are a person willing to take risks, or put in another way, a person who can live with core regrets. It is better to have a regret that I spent two years pursuing a goal of my life and started my career late, than to have the regret for the rest of your entire life that you did not pursue what you actually wanted to do. If you do decide to take the exam, you will have to tell yourself that irrespective of the result, you’ll be fine and your career will also be fine. If you dont clear the exam - worst case, maybe you’ll take some more struggle than the peers around you, but 10-15 years later, what will matter is whether you did what you wanted to do in your heart. I personally know of a lot of people who committed to UPSC and judiciary, but could not clear the exam, and trust me all of those are doing fine today, they have figured out alternate paths and doors have opened eventually.

1. Mug up and practice all the PYPQs thrice. And understand the pattern of Questions;
2. Refer YT for Paper 1. Maximize your score there;
3. Just read basic syllabus, refer dukkis, and use telegram resources wisely;
4. Revise.

I had this perception. But I am now seeing more and more people (my colleagues in University) from Hindi heartland preferring Nagpur (don't know about Ahmedabad). These cities are rapidly making strides towards worldly sophistication. A few days back I saw judgement of District Court of Nagpur. It was a Trademark dispute and the judgment was in English.

I faced this issue the other day. I referred to a classmate and old friend in my law firm as a “girl”, while speaking about her to someone else. Some woke associate from another law school, who overheard the conversation, butted in and tried to shame me as a misogynist and patriarchal. I told him to STFU as I know her for many years since she was a kid and she too will prob refer to me as a “guy” and not a “gentleman”.

Really stupid this whole nonsense about why we can’t address old friends as “girls”. My parents do so with their old classmates. This is why liberals are getting a bad rep these days. Trying to police language and label everything as a “micro aggression”.

speaking of competition law, it seems like an effort to control the merit cartel of NLUs. 2 of their 3 editions had winner from private colleges, and even the third edition had a tier 2 college like NLUJ as winners. Funny how mooters from the top law schools who have won international moots didn't even have their memos qualified in this moot. Biased moot in my opinion.
