“111. As a sequitur, it is inferred that the respondent/Law School is not akin to a State University established by the State Government. In fact, on a reading of the scheme of the Act, it is clear that the State Legislature was mindful of the fact that it was establishing a national-level institution in the State of Karnataka and that its powers under the Act was minimal. It is also not on par with the other national law schools in the country. It may be that the respondent/Law School is a part of the Consortium along with other National Law Schools for the purpose of participating in CLAT. But, the respondent/Law School cannot be compared with other Law Schools nor is on par, for the reason that the incorporation and establishment of the respondent/Law School is unique; it is the product of an experiment made by the BCI to set up a model law college in India for the promotion of the legal education, which would be a national-level institution. -: 159 :- Hence, the respondent/Law School is a unique national- level institution and cannot be construed to be a State University. It may be that the establishment of the respondent/Law School is by a legislation just as other law schools have been set up in various States of the country but, the similarity ends there. In all other respects, the respondent/Law University is a stand-alone Law School and University of India. It has its own distinctive features and therefore, must function as such so as to achieve the objects for which it has been set up.”

The NLS faculty has several kind, brilliant human beings on it. You may want to assess your idea of moral corruption. You should read MO's book again and watch her interviews. The worst thing we can do to ourselves is get trapped in our bitterness and resentment. I also didn't have the same privileges as everyone else and I resented unfairness, held grudges and assumed things that prevented me from asking for help. Human beings are complicated. But if you don't give them a chance, you will feel helpless and never get anywhere. Learn to move on after feeling bad. Remember no one is perfect and no one has a life without their own problems. Often giving your professors a chance is giving yourself a bigger chance.

I just don't know what to say. Good law schools all over the common law world, including the best ones in the entire world - Oxford and Cambridge - have always had a tutorial system (in Cambridge they call them "supervisions"). Those people are a thousand times the lawyers that you grifters and scroungers will ever be. But don't worry, at least NLS now has good academic standards, which means outsiders (and alumni) have a way to distinguish the grifters from the workers. I must say, Legally India has done a remarkable job of helping you ensure you don't mistakenly out yourselves.

Also, when you say "highly ranked", I am sorry, but if it is a student law journal, unless you published in the Harvard Law Review, Yale Law Journal or the McGill Law Journal, that is quite a loaded claim to make. People would be much more willing to take your claim at face value and operate on a "trust but verify" principle if you'd published in a proper journal like Public Law, Current Legal Problems, Law Quarterly Review, Indian Law Review, Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Cambridge Law Journal, Industrial Law journal or some similar academic journal with a high quality peer review process.

I do all of that; I prepare for classes, engage when I feel I have to put across a point (not random yapping) and turn in my assignments on time. I'll tell you what I don't do- I don't crack jokes with my teachers, I don't give fake compliments on how they have published groundbreaking research, I keep my conversations professional and businesslike. I didn't read the entire wall of text you pasted here and couldn't care less on what 'YOU' think happens. You might have been a bad student, I am certainly not. Flattery works more than hardwork. A0 here, recently joined. While assessing the transactions for notifiability, I understand we look at the turnover/revenue and asset values provided in the financials. Only doubt is - when to look at “revenue from operations” and when “total revenue”? Or we look only at revenue from operations? TIA.

It doesn't matter much if you are working from the office or home because the amount of work you'll get is approx equal because if you are in office they'll call you for a task or msg you and in WFH they again can call you on your mobile or assign you the work on email. They need you to get the work done within the timeline no matter the working mode and yes it can get hectic it depends on the timeline and type of work.

It's the other way around actually. 3 days WFO and 2 days WFH. I interned there in July. Understand you are exhausted but trust me when I tell you how important it is as an intern to be present all days of the week and to visibilise the work you will anyway be grinding away at, at home.

He's going to get an extension of at least six months even if a new guy has to be appointed. That's the bare minimum for search committee to be appointed, applications sought and interviews held. I'm a final-year student in a more than average law college (Non-Nlu) having interned at the trial court, High Court and the Supreme Court, being my final year I have an MZM legal (Mumbai office) internship lined up.

I want to know certain things 1. Is it worth interning at MZM in your Final year? 2. How much they Pay to A0 3. Work culture?

Kids on LI have a very poor sense of aesthetics. A large campus with a lot of facilities does not make it a beautiful campus. Look at GNLU: ugly af and that it sadly true for most Indian law school buildings. Even Jindal’s main campus, with glass and steel, is ugly looking. However, Ashoka is definitely aesthetic

Most attractive university buildings in India were actually those built by the British, such as IISC and Roorkee.
