Ngl, the NALSAR chant goes hard. NLS chant only works with this context and even then isn't terribly creative. Could do a lot better but humor or quick wit may not be our strong suit. Even if it is, it is usually strangled fairly quickly what with all the political correctness and public virtue signalling culture. Your W, NALSAR!

We have 2 major exam “seasons” per trimester. The midterms and the end terms. We generally also have at least 2 mandatory moots, 1 paper and 1 other activity.

We get 3 internship breaks: October, February (Mandatory Internship), June.

There is no way we can intern in the trimester, we are just too busy.

Yeah, I've often heard that my seniors get less package compared to other NLU peers but then I shot that away by thinking that disputes and IPR teams are already underpaid.

I do hope this is not the case in senior advocates' chambers where I'm willing to get placed. (the good ones that pay you enough)

This is actually something I've been looking forward to. At the end of my second year, I'll try interning with a high court judge and by the end of the third year a supreme court judge. Probably the only good thing about my NLU is the relations they have with judges all over the country so getting those internships will be very easy from my Uni’s end. Thank you for your advice!

Thank you so much for providing the roadmap. I'm quite close to top 5 in my batch and just a little more push can land me in top 5 this year. Luckily I was able to convince my professors to help me out with publications and under their guidance I've been able to write some good pieces that I might be looking forward to get published this year.

I believe at my current level QF of NLU moots and SF/Finals of normal uni moots are achievable and this year I'll go for 2-3 moots. ADR is something I've really excelled in my NLU so I'm also looking forward to it.

But there's only so much I could do it by myself. How do I cover this difference? Every time I get this feeling that someone sitting at NALSAR would be going for Jessup/vis while I'm thinking about Amity (nothing against Amity). I tried to think about publishing in the NUALS journal and someone from NLUD ended up writing an editorial in The Hindu. It's like this constant feeling of lagging behind which bugs me.

The only thing that's going well with me is my internship performance which makes me get paid callbacks from my previous workplaces but these are not the chambers where I wish to work at all. The

If youre gonna make it a numbers game, JGLS will always win. They have more everything, more students, more faculty, more money. Where they might be losing is not having better, better students, better faculty, better reputation, all of that.

How many out of those 300 plus faculty do you think are delivering passable to good courses in teaching and evaluation?

Five years ago, I was an underconfident kid who had just entered a national law school. The onset of COVID-19 only made things more tough. Feeling lost, I turned to LI for advice and there were so many helpful comments. So many kind strangers offered their support and I found myself returning to the LI post to feel better whenever I felt lost.

Today, I am incredibly grateful. I've landed a job where I’m valued, and I genuinely enjoy the work. I think I’m doing okay in life.

So please, please do not forget: it gets better and you will find your place in the world.

I mean- people getting engineering have to do some social science. Its just how the UGC rules are structured. If NLS is doing something that is not allowed by BCI rules or by UGC then you can make a case. Otherwise- suck it up and study one course and get it over with. There are many people who would rather not learn economics or corporate law, but you dont see them whinging that they have to study that stuff to get their BA and LLB degrees do you?

It's not just that, right? Whenever I have interacted with interns, I have always asked them about their past internships to get a sense of their experience / capability to handle the work I'm delegating to them and since law is such a small field, it has always been the case I'd know someone at one of these places and ask the intern if they met so and so. You will get caught. Don't do it.
