1. Don't try to do everything in your first year/ first semester itself. Remember, jack of all trades is a master of none. Pick one or two activities, attend the committee's orientation or workshop, and spend time on preparing for whatever work you do so that you can put in your best effort.
2. First year is too early to make any such decisions and even if you make them, your mind may change later on. As you get more exposure to law and legal practices, you will develop some interests and ideas. Generally around 3rd year is when this starts. Some people don't fully have an idea even in 5th year, that is also fine.
This feeling is not going to go away; until and unless you regularly make appearance before court. Initially i started with civil litigation and then shifted to nclt and that change made me feel very insecure. I used to get nervous; while addressing the bench. What worked for me was that i stopped comparing myself with others and feeling bad about it; if i am in court i never miss my chance to observe other lawyers and counsels and learning from them. I always notice how others approach the bench. I have definitely learned different ways to address and approach the bench; according to the benches mood.
Whenever any lawyer mentions any judgment or order in their submissions; i write down the name of the same and read it later in the office. This has made me much more confident; while appearing in court. The most important thing is to stop comparing yourself with others; remember that you have to wake up with yourself everyday and comparing yourself with others is only going to make your life miserable.
And p.s.a. You don’t need to remember the name of judgments, also make handwritten colour coded notes for your submissions and read through it before every hearing.
I'm a third year student at Rank 13-14 (Tier 3 offc.) NLU. I come from a rural background and a first generation lawyer, with very middle class background.
So the problem is that, I'm getting an internship at Wadhwa's chambers. And prior to it, I don't have any in- office/on-site experience of interning.
As it's based in Delhi, so living there and spending a month. The timings of the office, travelling, where to live in a city like Delhi, how will be everything, the finance and so on... I'm feeling like stuck.
Should I go for it or not, I know that one day I've to step out. But then, please help me out how to handle this situation.
Thoughts like skipping the break and procrastination are coming. Considering I will be getting (only) 7 official breaks for internship, post this one. But then my "mind" says that anyway my ultimate goal is to go for judiciary, why even I'm going for it.

Saying males shouldnt be in womens sport is not excluding males from sport. Most males happily participate in male sport. And there are open categories. We've all been with a guy who claimed he would commit suicide if we didnt give him what he wants- You dont make policy because of threatened hurt feelings.
You have ZERO concern for the rights of natal women, for their right to play in fair sports and their opportunities and their basic physical safety. Awarding handicaps wont stop women from being hit so hard that they get brain damage. Look it up thats happened. You have no leg to stand on.
