We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I propose all lawyers regardless of level of seniority deserve 8-10% of their billings. JSA already does this.
Given the inflation and no tax relief for middle class, we should demand these pay bands. US and UK firms have been increasing salaries and it is time Indian firms levelled up.
Basic perks firms should provide - good laptops with an upgrade every 2 years, iPhone, business class travel and 5 star hotel when travelling, 2 days WFH per week, an allowance to set up a home office including desktop, printer and scanner, annual offsites even if they include training and mentorship sessions, breakfast, lunch and dinner in office, cabs after 8 pm regardless of gender, menstrual leave for women, a sign on bonus of 1 monthβs salary especially for freshers to be able to relocate and buy office wear, bank tie ups for a decent credit card, a car leasing program, compulsory paid time off where your system gets locked and on site counselling.
All these were provided by one firm or the other over the years and have got diluted. Most corporates provide these perks as well.
Please share this post widely so that it reaches the managing partners. If we demand these in unison, maybe things will change for better.
Apparently Sequoia had analyst program for lawyers, but they have discontinued that now. But generally these in-house roles seem to be for 4 years+ work experience.
Iβve even contacted some lawyer folks who shared their HR email ID, but the HR donβt respond.
Nice. So that means you're not gonna address the problems of NLUs? You are Chancellor of NSLIU, NUJS and GNLU. What have you done for them? How man y visits to Jindal and how many to these places?
Hopefully that helps.
The question now is: who will hire people wishing to work at Indus' Capital Markets?
Anjali Menon, Mansi Jhaveri, and Neha Balodhi are the three Principal Associates listed on their website. Have these PAs also departed with the large group, or are they staying with Indus to potentially become partners?
Please share any information you may have about this. It is important for me to know as soon as possible.

Feel so sorry for her and her family. Such a calm and dignified lady. Obviously from a family like all of our families --- educated and upper middle-class, but not the super rich who can buy the police.. This could literally happen to any of us! Action must be taken against the police for ignoring the real culprits and harassing an innocent man, whose taxes fund these corrupt clowns!

Or 0.2% if you draft value in agreement
Bar Councils of Delhi, Odisha, Punjab & Haryana have issued notices putting stop on new enrolments till further directions from BCI.
Nevertheless, can this "not the entire picture" be true for some in T-1 law firms? There is so much written about no WLB, long working hours, toxicity, etc. in T1s. But is there anyone who has been there for a few years and thinks that posts in LI didn't portray the entire picture, at least for the person concerned? Someone who got most of the weekends off in a year, who mostly had to work about 10 hours a day or less, who managed to start a family and spend time to nurture it, who exercised regularly, and who was able to maintain decent health?
It is not the fault of LI. I guess there is only so much LI, or "words," can convey. You have to really go out and experience it for yourself. But if you have witnessed something good or at least "not bad" about your job, then please share. Though I have heard many money-minting engineers groan about the hectic work culture, yet there are a good number of engineers with the same pay who say their job is doable; working on weekends for many of them is not even a thing, and average work hours are about 10 and, on a few days, much less. Above all, they are happy with their jobs. I hardly see an associate here on LI who echoes the same.
Small fish in big pond? Or big fish in small pond? Both has its advantages and disadvantages. But depends - what do you want to be?
I mean how would a firm with a Managing Partner who's know known outside of Delhi be expected to do? The family thought they had a saviour - someone who could steady the ship - mark my words, in 3 years he will abandon the ship and then the family will realise what disservice they've done to RKL's legacy!
Btw which teams are good in BLR
If joining a BIG Law firm is considered winning and is the ultimate aim of NLU graduates, then their ambitions are pitiable and laughable.
Again, I'm glad other NLUs didn't make the "cut", for what a waste it would be.
A Big Law / Law firm recruitment is essentially the WITCH equivalent of law.
I mean i understand that it is, because of astronomical and insane fees these "government" run colleges charge and the non existent pay in other sectors. It leaves many no choice but to join these sweatshops, i know, because i was in one for many many years.
Essentially, an NLU Grad is an easy and cheap resource for these firms (not just CAM or T1s). Its sad when our nation could use these bright minds for so many more things, but they're spent in drudgery of toxic work environments drafting repetitive shit.
