According to authoritative sources, Udwadia Udeshi & Argus (UUA) will separate into what remains of the two pre-merger legacy-firm by next month.

Argus Partners, which broke away from Amarchand Mangaldas Kolkata last year, has set up a Mumbai office relocating partner Ramya Hariharan to the city full-time while partner Krishnava Dutt will also spend half his time in the financial hub.

Kolkata Amarchand spin-off Argus Partners and AZB & Partners have scooped roles on the $124m private equity placement and open offer by Bain Capital in coal tar manufacturer Himadri Chemicals & Industries.

Krishnava Dutt was the only partner based in Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co’s Kolkata office of more than 20 lawyers.

The firm will relocate Delhi corporate partner Kalpataru Tripathy to fill his space and lead the office.
