HSA Advocates has hired Agarwal Law Associates lawyer Manan Shukla as a partner in its Delhi disputes team.

Top advocate-on-record (AOR) and Supreme Court powerhouse Agarwal Law Associates (ALA), which has around 50 lawyers, has announced a cut in fee-earner salaries of 30% on those earning more than Rs 40,000 per month at least until 14 April, after closure of the courts and social distancing measures have caused court work to fall off a cliff.

It is well known that nearly every Supreme Court case is in want of an advocate-on-record (AOR), and several lawyers and law firms have made this a core part of their Supreme Court practice. After analysing more than 120,000 of the Supreme Court’s daily orders from 2018, we have now compiled a list of the busiest advocate-on-record (AOR) firms in the apex court, according to the number of orders mentioning their names.

The Supreme Court directed the Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) to pay Rs 1100 crores as refund to L&T subsidiary Nabha Power (NPL), relieving NPL from a potential loss of Rs 8000 crore over the next 22 years.
