Pramod Rao, the general counsel (GC) of Citibank India since 2013, will be re-joining the ICICI fold as ICICI Group GC, returning to the banking giant at which he had started his career.

Pramod Rao, the founder partner of IndusLaw’s Mumbai office and former general counsel (GC) of ICICI Bank, will join Citibank India as its GC in July.

Exclusive in today’s Mint: Pramod Rao, ICICI Bank’s general counsel (GC) of more than seven years, will join young law firm IndusLaw as an equity partner to set up its Mumbai office.

Exclusive: ICICI Bank general counsel Pramod Rao is due to leave the bank by April end to enter private practice, according to sources close to the company. He will be succeeded by ICICI Ventures head of legal and compliance Sanker Parameswaran.

ICICI Bank has recruited six law students from three campuses to start in its in-house team next year and it is set to hire from at least another five law schools soon.
